ChristTrade vs FX Replay

Written by the person who builds ChristTrade, so read it with that in mind. The parts where FX Replay wins are first, and they are not softened.

FX Replay details taken from their public pricing and product pages, checked August 2026. If something here is out of date or wrong, email hi@christtrade.com and it gets fixed.

Where each one is better

FX Replayis better at
  • Instrument coverage, by a mile

Forex, futures, stocks, indices, metals and bonds against our crypto. If you trade anything other than crypto today, this is not a close call and no amount of engine quality changes it.

  • An AI review layer

Mentor AI reviews your trading behaviour and gives feedback on it. There is no equivalent here and none is being built.

  • A chart you already know

Their charts are TradingView. If that is the interface your muscle memory is built on, there is a real switching cost to learning ours, and a familiar chart is worth something.

  • More road behind them

A longer track record, a bigger team and a support function to match. This is one person. If you want a vendor rather than a project, that is a fair thing to want.

ChristTradeis better at
  • Deeper analytics

Monte Carlo across resampled trade sequences reporting CAGR, Sharpe, Sortino, volatility, percentile outcomes and probability of ruin. Plus expectancy in R, Kelly fraction, payoff ratio, an expected-value curve, initial-versus-realised RR, and an hourly-by-weekday heatmap. This is the part of the product that is furthest ahead and it is the part nobody mentions.

  • The chart is ours

Every other replay tool in this category rents TradingView and inherits its ceiling. ChristTrade Depth is built here and open source, which is why level 3 order-by-order flow, footprint charts and heatmaps are even possible - they are not things you can bolt onto a licensed widget. Worth being precise: that is the engine’s reach, and the hosted site serves candles today.

  • You can ship code into it

A documented plugin system that takes TypeScript, scripted and WebAssembly plugins, with lifecycle hooks, scoped permissions, storage and a service registry. Plus a public data adapter interface, so you can point it at your own feed.

  • Five times cheaper, and the free tier is real

$7 a month against $35, and our free tier is the product rather than a sampler. You can open the backtester without an account at all.

So which one

Pick FX Replay if

You trade forex, futures, stocks or anything else that is not crypto, and you need that data today. That is the whole argument and it is a good one. Also pick them if you want an AI review layer, or if leaving the TradingView interface is a cost you would rather not pay.

Pick ChristTrade if

You trade crypto, you want your review to go deeper than a win rate, or you want to extend the tool instead of waiting for someone to build your feature. And if $35 a month for practice is money you would rather have in the account you are practising for.

The honest summary

FX Replay is broader. ChristTrade is deeper where it reaches. They have more markets, more years and more people; we have better analytics and we own the engine, which means the ceiling here is code rather than a licence agreement. Both replay the market honestly. Try both, they are both free to start.
