why not just charge for stuff like everyone else does?
honestly it's pretty simple. Mat. 10:8 says "freely you have received, freely give" and that's basically it. but there's more to it than just that
when i started trading i went through the exact same bs cycle everyone does - making a new email every week to keep milking fxreplay free trials* cause $35 a month is actually ridiculous
so instead of just complaining about it i figured i'd actually do something. started as just some economic news scraper thing when i was bored, then added journaling, then backtesting, and now here we are with a whole platform lol
the other thing is i actually want people to find the Bible through this. trading's cool but someone discovering scripture through christtrade means more to me than any profit i could ever make
plus i'm young and this is literally my first real project ever. never expected it to get this big (90k+ lines of code rn) but it did and keeping it free just feels right
had plans for a small $5/month paid tier mainly to cover server costs but ended up scrapping it before it ever went public. since i'm under 18 it's easier to just take donations for now. paid stuff might come back someday but the core platform will always stay free
idk man. good heart > good profit i guess. that's really all there is to it
*I don't encourage replicating this approach; it was part of my personal journey.
