No idea how to start this one, but just another big update. Based on when I write the last devlog, you can tell ive been working on this update for quite a while now.
I guess the big thing would be payments. Sadly, futures data is expensive as fuck, costs $500 a month... and thats the cheapest I could find, live or even delayed futures data is at least like 3x more.
$500 means there needs to be at least 70 Pro members for it just to turn breakeven. and btw, forex costs $1000 a month from the provider that provides futures, but that does include live data and crypto so i guess its a good deal if you got the money.
still, expensive for startups.. (I do believe they offer like a 50% discount for startups the first year or something idk but whatever). so yeah thats the main reason, otherwise, if i just wanted the money, i wouldve already added payments lol.
Second, the chart. People like tradingview charts. they're good, but fuck me working with them is a nightmare. Genuinely a bad experience getting it to work, started thinking how that's the gold standard for charts, so why not create my own. It actually started as a joke when talking with some friends that I was gonna add orderflow to the site, and long story short, one thing lead to the next and now I've taken the choice to just throw away the tradingview charts and all code surrounding that, completely rebuilding the backtesting experience from scratch. brick by brick.
I mean its either live with my charts (not to glaze myself, but they are way better and more powerful than tradingviews' and such a better experience to work with) OR you can go back to paying $35 a month for the other famous backtesting site (not allowed to say their name for legal reasons, not trying to get sued. fun fact, that same site has a patent on trade journaling lmao)
there's more technical stuff too, like cleaning up about a 100k lines of code, optimizing stuff to make everything feel faster, and just general maintenance. Oh yeah and remade the landing page and theme for yet another time etc
There's still a ton of stuff to do though, my to do hasnt been empty in a very long time..
The most sad part is having to deprecate the std editor... spent so much damn time on that transpiler only for it to not get anywhere :( (if anyone is interested in it, maybe you got tradingview charts and for whatever reason wants to stay with them, reach out and I could give the source)

And oh my days writing docs takes literally forever, spent an entire damn day only creating the first few pages of the docs for Depth. Got soo many more to write...
Anyways, just over half a year of constant, hard work, which has become this. ill try to maybe break down the updates into smaller pieces in the future, we'll see I guess... I work how I work. And join the discord if you want more updates than these devlogs.
